I was driving down Lincoln yesterday towards Marina del Rey, and I saw a big billboard for a TV show that's already been cancelled. I see these alot here in L.A., so much so that I started wondering what it must be like for the actors who are in these cancelled shows.
Like, how much did it suck to be Heather Graham, after "Emily's Reasons Why Not" bombed after two episodes, to be driving down the 10 freeway and see a big, HUGE billboard of that show, or have buses pass by with your face on them, promoting a show that you've essentially been fired from? That's got to be totally surreal, and extremely sucky, all at once. I mean, think about the last time you really screwed up at work. Would you want buses and posters all around town, serving as a big, visible reminder of the screw up?
Of course, these people get paid millions of dollars for these screw ups, but still. It really has to suck in a way that something can only suck in L.A. or New York.
