Stephan went out of town last week so we finally got caught up on Breaking Bad the other day. Can I just mention that it is actually VERY difficult in this day and age to actually be surprised by things? It took a concerted effort to avoid every mention of that show on social media, on the internet, etc. I didn't go so far as to insist on "NO SPOILERS," but I did effect an almost Amish media fast in order to not know what happened on the show until Stephan got back and we could watch it together.
So, now we've seen it. Can we all just go ahead and agree that what's on television right now is much better than any movie? I feel like good TV series are the new Great American Novel, and sometimes I wish I wrote for TV.
Here are my two favorite moments from last week's episode.
Hilarious. I hope Bob Odenkirk's spinoff series is funny, because I think he is amazing. Oh, did I mention that we have tickets to see the "Mr. Show" reunion next week? That would be featuring Bob Odenkirk and David Cross talking about their favorite moments from Mr. Show.
If you don't know what I'm talking about when I say "Mr. Show," here is a 27 minute long montage, in case you're not doing anything right now and you need a good laugh.
We still quote Mr. Show sketches almost every day, so we are geekily excited to see Odenkirk and Cross discussing it. Here is my other favorite "Breaking Bad" moment from last week. Setting: Hank, Marie, Walt, and Skylar go out for the world's most tense dinner to discuss how THEY ALL KNOW. Hank's face says it all:
I have named this photo "Pooface," and if you saw the episode, you will also recognize this as the moment right before Walt gave Hank and Marie that confessional video, which had to be one of the greatest television scenes I personally have ever witnessed.
Anyhow, we're obsessed with Breaking Bad over here. If you are not, can I highly recommend that you go binge watch all the seasons/ episodes in a row so that you might be caught up? It really is to die (pun intended).
And, how is your weekend going?
